Travel Health at WVGP

If you and your family are travelling overseas it is imperative that you take every possible precaution to stay healthy while away.

Find out everything you need to know about Travel Health and how to avoid becoming unwell whilst on your holiday. Our advice includes information on how to protect yourself and your family from infectious disease transmission by person, animal, insect (especially malaria) as well as food and water borne disease. We are an Accredited Yellow Fever vaccine centre and have access to essential travel health information and the latest updates from the World Health Organisation. Our knowledgeable doctors and nurses will help you plan your travel health and help you to stay healthy whilst abroad.

When should you visit us? As soon as you plan to travel, you should come and see your doctor to help build a travel health plan. Ideally any immunisations should be commenced at least six weeks prior, but the earlier the better. Remember that immunisations are only part of travel health and there are many other aspects of your health to check and plan prior to travelling. Your travel medical consult at WVGP will attract a medicare rebate and you may be able to claim the costs of the vaccines from your Private Health Fund
